Anti-Lode
The Breach
KHAOS
There is an ancient force that benefits from your people existing in the state before becoming — formless, scattered, unmade.
It holds the Anti-Lode — a cube that absorbs light. Every piece of gold the formation brings forth, it attempts to take back into the dark.
In 1865 Galveston — one of its agents is already in the square.
Kemun and Nara have been trying to reach you. Through archives. Through memory. Through this portal. They need the formation to enter a specific moment in history.
Kemun

The First Memory
The archive does not forget.
What was buried — we traced it.
What was erased — we held it.
The formation is needed inside a specific moment.
June 19, 1865. Galveston, Texas.
The portal is open. Nara will explain what you are walking into.
What the formation is capable of building
This is what KHAOS works to prevent
Nara
Nara
Keeper of Waters
Galveston, Texas. An island city. June 19, 1865.
General Granger will read an order at noon. What it says — you know. What it means in practice — that is what we are sending you to discover.
The formation will move through the city between dawn and nightfall. Every choice changes what the community walks away with.
KHAOS will move through its agents. The Anti-Lode is already active. Watch what is offered as reasonable.
Choose carefully.
The Totem Chooses You

The Formation
The formation is not an avatar. The formation is you.

Name the people traveling with you — up to eight. They will be named in consequences, impacted by calamities, carried through history alongside Elijah.
Nara: "The names you enter are the names the record will hold."
Once you’re in, the lay of the land — the rules, the route, who’s who — lives in the status bar. Tap the guide’s face anytime.
Enter the formation
One name per line. First name = formation lead.
Type a name. Use the arrows to see each face up close, then lock one in — or leave it on "No Icon." Entirely optional.
The Formation Is Sealed
These names are now part of the record. The antechamber acknowledges the formation.
The Portal Recognizes You
Kemun
Before The Formation Enters
What This Is
This is not a recreation. It is a fully-immersive return — sight, sound, the people, the weather, the weight of the morning. Every person the formation speaks to is real to the formation in this moment. Every choice has a reaction, an impact, a consequence, and a reward. The archive calls these outcomes.
KHAOS — The Fracture
Galveston, June 19, 1865 is one entry point into KHAOS — a fracture in continuity that the formation can enter from many directions, past or present. Remix is one of many missions inside it. What happens here is real within it: calamities strike without warning. Unfair things happen, the way they do outside this room. The formation may not all make it through together.
If A Traveler Falls
A traveler who is taken, captured, or lost is pulled back to the Antechamber — safe, but outside the mission. They cannot re-enter until this episode closes. The formation that remains decides whether to continue.
How This Is Measured
Maximum standing comes from defeating what KHAOS sends, keeping every traveler out of harm's way, and completing the mission together. The formation can also fracture by design — a member can go rogue, lead, or break off to look out for themselves alone. Every path is real. Not every path is rewarded the same way.

The One Room KHAOS Cannot Easily Reach
The Meeting Room
Every formation that has ever walked this morning has come back here between what it faced outside. The townspeople see you as their own — teachers, staff, family. Out there, June 19th is happening to the formation. In here, for a moment, it isn't.
Choose where to walk. Nothing forces the order — but not every door opens on the first visit.

The Shipyard · Stakes ●
Whatever Isn't Nailed Down
Crates are stacked loose along the rail, and half of them are sliding with every wave. Someone could use whatever's worth catching before it goes in the water. Young Samuel is already down on the rail, quick hands snatching what the water reaches for — he flashes the formation a grin, glad for the company.
The Shipyard
Catch The Crates
Move the cart with LEFT, MID, or RIGHT. Line it up under a falling crate and catch it as it reaches the green band near the bottom — too early does nothing. Three catches wins.
The Natural Habitat · Stakes ●●
The Overgrowth Has Its Own Frequency
This is marshland nobody tends. A formation member could get lost in it faster than they'd expect — or find something nobody else has bothered to look for. Sister Ruth knows this ground — she gathers roots here the town doctors never learned to name, and she marks the safe paths for the formation while warning off the ones that swallow.
The Armory · Stakes ●●
The Door Was Not Locked
Whoever left in a hurry left the Armory standing open. This is not a place the formation has to come back to.
The Formation Rode North
Not Away From. Toward.
The formation did not board to disappear into someone else's city. They boarded with a plan to found their own.

Land. A name. A start.

Not running. Building.
"Some of the formation's descendants will ask why anyone stayed. Some will ask why anyone left. Both questions deserve an answer. This is the formation's."
Historical note: Black townships founded by formerly enslaved people in the decades after 1865 — Nicodemus, Kansas among them — are real. This outcome is real.
A question for the world outside the portal
What would you build if no one already there could tell you no?

What's stopping you from starting it smaller, today?

Anti-Lode
KHAOS speaks through this offer
Elder Joseph said: "A cage offered kindly is still a cage."
What is this offer?
The Name Was Said Aloud
He Did Not Deny It.
The crowd does not need Prescott to confirm it. The name is already moving mouth to mouth faster than he can follow it.

He does not raise his voice. He does not reach for the denial a lesser man would reach for. He simply stops talking about contracts.

"You'll find," he says, to no one in particular now, "that a man's arrangements only hold as long as no one's looking at them too closely." It is the closest he will come, today, to admitting anything.
"I never said the road was free of risk. I said I could manage it. That offer required people not looking too closely at how."
"This is not a confession. Men like this do not confess. This is a man recalculating in public, which is its own kind of admission — and the crowd is doing the math with him."
Root: The fracture depends on the watching going one direction only. Today it went both ways.
A question for the world outside the portal
What arrangement in your own life has only ever survived because no one looked at it closely?

What would it cost you to be the one who looks?
The System Continued
The Formation Returned.
The announcement was real. The freedom was real. What followed was designed to make it invisible.

The formation returned to land they already knew. Within a season the contracts changed. Within a decade it had a name: sharecropping.
"This is what happened. Not in this game. On this date. To most of the people who heard that order read aloud. The portal is still open. What you know now — you did not know before."
Root: No collective behind you when the fracture moved.
A question for the world outside the portal
What are you witnessing right now — in your neighborhood, your school, your family — that needs to be written down before the narrative gets replaced?

Who will write it if not you?
The Formation Held
They Built Their Own.
The formation chose land over security, community over comfort, the unknown over a known trap.

Within a generation, somewhere in Texas, a Black town would rise.
The streets fill — the news is free now

★ Episode II Unlocked
Black Wall Street · Tulsa, Oklahoma · May 31, 1921
A question for the world outside the portal
Greenwood was built twice. The second time more quietly, because loudness had proven dangerous.

Where in your own life are you building quietly — and is it because you're strategic, or because you've been taught that visibility is a threat?
Record Fracture
The Formation Fell.
The resistors came before nightfall. Some formations were captured. Some scattered. Some disappeared from the record entirely.

The totem carries what was lost into the next attempt.
"This is what happened. Not in this game. On this date. To real people whose names we do not have. The portal remains open."
Root: The formation moved without enough intelligence. The cipher held clues. Some went unfound.
A question for the world outside the portal
The people who didn't make it made it possible for the ones who did.

Where in your own life are you carrying something you will never see completed — and is the carrying itself the contribution?
The Formation Sailed
The Harbor. The Tide.
The formation calculated what staying would cost — and chose movement instead.

Haiti had been free since 1804. The North had cities.

Not running. Navigating.
On the deck, the water opens. Galveston gets smaller. The formation looks out, not back.
"Sometimes the most sovereign thing is to build somewhere the system does not yet reach. The formation navigated."
Historical note: Thousands left Texas after Juneteenth. This outcome is real.
A question for the world outside the portal
What knowledge are you carrying that needs to reach further than where you are?

Who would change if they knew what you know? What is the cost of keeping it to yourself?
KHAOS WINS THIS ROUND

A formation member was taken before the square filled.
